Meet Devon Allison, Periodontist at AD Dentistry
Dr. Devon Allison is a highly trained periodontist with a strong academic and clinical background in periodontal therapy, bone biology, and oral-systemic health. She is dedicated to delivering evidence-based periodontal care while empowering patients with the knowledge and confidence needed to maintain healthy gums for life.
Education & Advanced Training
Dr. Allison earned her undergraduate degree in Biology from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania before attending the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. She completed her residency in Periodontics at the same institution, followed by a one-year postdoctoral fellowship focused on bone biology and murine models of bone remodeling. Concurrently, Dr. Allison completed a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology. Her doctoral research examined polymicrobial dual-species biofilm infections and the mechanisms by which disease spreads from the oral cavity.
Clinical & Professional Expertise
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Allison serves as a Clinical Reviewer for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on the Implantable Dental Devices Team. In this role, she evaluates current clinical practices and scientific research to assess the safety and effectiveness of new dental devices prior to their introduction to the U.S. market.
