Meet Dr. Louis T. Core, DDS, MAGD, MBA

Dr. Louis T. Core is a highly accomplished general dentist recognized for clinical excellence, advanced education, and leadership in sedation dentistry. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from Arizona State University before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Northwestern University Dental School, where he was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society in recognition of outstanding academic and clinical achievement.

Following dental school, Dr. Core pursued advanced training by completing an aesthetic dentistry residency, further refining his expertise in cosmetic and restorative care. He later returned to Arizona State University’s W. P. Carey School of Business, where he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA), strengthening his leadership, practice management, and organizational skills.

Dr. Core holds the distinguished designation of Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD)—an honor achieved by fewer than 1% of dentists in the United States over the past six decades. His commitment to compassionate care and community service has been widely recognized. In 2006, he was named a finalist for the Phoenix Business Journal’s Healthcare Heroes Award, and in 2007, he received the Spirit of Compassion Award from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for his work supporting victims of crime.

As a participating dentist in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s “Give Back a Smile” program, Dr. Core has provided pro bono restorative dental care to women who have suffered dental trauma as a result of domestic violence, working alongside general dentists and specialists to restore both function and confidence.

Dr. Core is licensed to administer intravenous conscious sedation, allowing him to deliver comprehensive dental care in a safe, comfortable, and anxiety-free environment. Due to his expertise, the Arizona Board of Dental Examiners frequently appoints him to train and inspect other dentists throughout the region to ensure proper IV sedation administration and compliance with state regulations. He is also a nationally published author on best practices in IV sedation dentistry.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Dr. Core completes over 100 hours of continuing education annually, remaining at the forefront of evolving dental technologies and techniques. His broad training enables him to evaluate each patient’s unique clinical needs and develop customized, comprehensive treatment plans focused on long-term oral health and patient comfort.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Core enjoys spending time with his wife and children and maintains an active lifestyle. He participates regularly in marathons and triathlons, including the Ironman® competition in Tempe, Arizona.
