My patients truly feel like an extension of my own family. Every individual brings a distinct personality into the practice, and I take great pleasure in building genuine relationships while guiding them toward a healthy, attractive smile they can enjoy for years to come.
A smile is often our first introduction to the world. When teeth are misaligned, many people experience discomfort and self-doubt, particularly in social, academic, or professional settings. It is not uncommon for patients to begin orthodontic treatment feeling withdrawn or hesitant to fully engage with those around them.
As treatment progresses and their teeth gradually align, a remarkable transformation occurs. Confidence grows, posture improves, and eye contact comes more naturally. Most importantly, patients begin to smile freely, laugh openly, and interact with renewed assurance. By the end of treatment, they are not just showing a new smile—they are embracing a new sense of self-confidence.
I am deeply committed to the long-term impact orthodontic care provides. While braces and aligners are often associated primarily with aesthetics, properly aligned teeth also contribute significantly to better oral health. They are easier to clean, reduce stress on the jaw, improve bite function, and can lower the risk of developing TMJ-related issues later in life.
Being an orthodontist allows me to positively influence the lives of people I care about by helping them achieve beautiful, functional smiles. I find this work incredibly fulfilling and cannot imagine a more rewarding profession.

I pursue extensive continuing education each year, both in Hawaii and internationally. Orthodontics is a rapidly advancing field, and staying current with the latest technologies and treatment approaches allows me to provide care that is both highly effective and as comfortable as possible for my patients.
Since 2008, I have been recognized as an Elite Preferred Provider for Invisalign® treatment—an honor awarded to only the top 1% of providers nationwide. I also serve as a Pacific Northwest Regional Leader and am among a very small number of women worldwide to hold this distinction. To date, I have successfully treated more than 1,000 patients with Invisalign, consistently achieving exceptional clinical outcomes.

Ryan F The staff here are so polite, friendly, and professional. I made an appointment here because of wasn’t happy with my previous dentist. I was looked at by Dr. Catalan (the son). He was very professional, not saying anything bad about the previous dental office, and concentrated on making sure that the problem was taken care of, and that I was happy with the service I received from him and the office staff.

The staff here are so polite, friendly, and professional. I made an appointment here because of wasn’t happy with my previous dentist. I was looked at by Dr. Catalan (the son).
