Adrian Watts – Bristol Dental Specialists
Specialist in Restorative Dentistry | Implant Surgeon | Partner
BDS (London), MRD RCS (Eng), FDS RCS (Eng), FDS (Restorative Dentistry) RCS (Eng), FFD RCS (Irel)
GDC No. 63380
Adrian Watts is a highly experienced restorative dentist and implant surgeon, combining extensive hospital work with private practice to deliver exceptional care. Since graduating from Guy’s Hospital, University of London, in 1988, Adrian has built a career that bridges both clinical excellence and specialist education.
He began his Consultant and Specialist training at Bristol Dental Hospital in 1995 and, in 2001, was awarded an International Team for Implantology Scholarship, which allowed him to study and teach implant dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. This advanced training equips him with the ability to quickly assess complex dental conditions and clearly communicate diagnoses and treatment options to patients.
In 2003, Adrian returned to the UK and became principal of his own specialist referral practice in Clifton, which he sold in 2014 to co-found Bristol Dental Specialists. Alongside his specialist practice, Adrian has served as a part-time NHS Consultant at Cardiff Dental Hospital for ten years, leading the implant dentistry module in a specialist training program. From September 2019, he continues as a part-time NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton while practicing at Bristol Dental Specialists. He also teaches and mentors dentists through the Bristol Dental Academy, offering specialist lectures and training.
Adrian is registered with the General Dental Council as a specialist in Restorative Dentistry, Periodontics, Endodontics, and Prosthodontics—a distinction held by very few dental surgeons in the UK. This expertise provides reassurance to both patients and referring dentists.
Outside of dentistry, Adrian enjoys cycling, surfing (with limited success), playing football, following rugby, and attending theatre and comedy performances.
