Meet Dr. Kaitlin Hoogeveen, DDS, Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Kaitlin Hoogeveen is a native of Northwest Iowa, raised in Sioux Center. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa, before pursuing her dental education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. During dental school, Dr. Hoogeveen was recognized for outstanding academic and clinical achievement and was elected by her instructors to the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.

Following graduation, Dr. Hoogeveen completed a rigorous two-year pediatric dentistry residency at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. During this training, she gained extensive experience in comprehensive and emergency dental care for children of all ages, including those with special health care needs. She is proficient in providing care using nitrous oxide (laughing gas), conscious sedation, and general anesthesia in an operating room setting. Her residency also included collaborative care in specialized areas such as cleft lip and palate, hemophilia, inpatient services, neonatal intensive care (NICU), oncology, and transplant patient care.

As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Hoogeveen is dedicated to creating positive dental experiences that foster lifelong oral health. She is a board-certified pediatric dentist and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and Iowa Pediatric Dental Association. Dr. Hoogeveen also serves as an adjunct clinical professor at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, helping train the next generation of dental professionals.

Outside of her practice, Dr. Hoogeveen and her husband, Ryan, enjoy participating in community activities, attending local sporting events, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with family, friends, and their dog, Darby.
