About Dr. Mark Hochman, DDS
Dr. Mark Hochman was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Long Island University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, he began his professional career working for Union Carbide Corporation, where he handled government contracts. Although successful, he soon realized he was seeking a more meaningful and challenging path. In 1970, after nearly two years with the company, he made the decision to return to school part-time to complete the prerequisites for dental school. In 1972, he began his journey into dentistry—a decision he has never regretted.
Dr. Hochman began practicing dentistry in Washington, D.C. in 1977, first on 19th Street, NW, and later on M Street, NW. In 1990, a weekend trip to Southern Maryland to purchase a boat became a turning point in his life. Captivated by the charm of Solomon’s Island, he sold his Washington, D.C., practice and relocated to the area. He practiced dentistry in Leonardtown, St. Mary’s County, from 1990 to 2010 and continues to provide care at his La Plata, Maryland, office.
Today, Dr. Hochman lives in Mechanicsville with his wife and their dog, in a home overlooking a peaceful creek. He is passionate about dentistry, life, and the positive impact that healthy, confident smiles can have on a person’s well-being. His philosophy centers on living life fully while helping patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles.
